In the grounds of the high school, you got out of your (Relative) car. You had just started high school and were shaking like a leaf. People were walking in and you waked in as well. You decided that you would stay quiet and out of sight. You made no eye contact with anyone, although the guys you could see out of the corners of your eyes were cute. They also had huge groups of girls following them. You had to tell yourself more than once that you didn't stand a chance with any of them and that you should just forget about it.

You began in Homeroom and you got a seat at the back of the class. You took a look at your schedule and after the bell rang, you looked around to see who was in your homeroom. It was hard to do with the spiky-haired guy in front of you blocking your view. A sigh came out as you could not believe how unlucky you were. As homeroom continued to bore you, you decided to get out your journal. Before you got your journal you came across your scissors which made you giggle. A temptation to go and cut down some spikes. Instead, you grabbed your journal and started writing until Homeroom was over.

As you grabbed your (Color) bag you noticed that someone was standing over you. You slowly looked up and saw Spiky.

"Hello," You said shyly.

"Hi," He said in a deep calm voice,  " I wanted to apologize"

"For what?" You answered.

"Usually no one sits behind me and I know that it can't be easy."  He moved his eyes hinting at his hair.

As you stood up you answered, "It's fine, I doubt I missed much."

Both of you laughed and you got a good look at him, he was cute. Your mind continued to reveal the truth to you. He was probably taken or you were not even close to his type.

"Well, I need to get to my next class, so see you." You said as you began to leave.

"Wait,"  he commented, "

You looked back and saw him with a pencil in hand. As he handed it to you, you noticed it was your pencil you were writing with.

"My name is Yami," he informed as he handed it to you.

"(Name)" You responded as you took it and placed it in your bag.

You continued to your next class with a smile on your face that did not fade as the day went on.

Your first interaction with anyone and it went well. He was cute and at least didn't treat you like you were a Freshman. He wasn't in any of the other classes. But you had one more thing that you couldn't wait for; after school the Games Club was having a meeting for Freshman to join. You were planing on joining and loved to play games of all kinds. As you walked in you saw plenty of people and plenty of games to choose from, even Live RPGs. You looked around and you could not believe who was there.

Yami was sitting at a table playing a card game with a bunch of other guys. He was playing and laughing with the guys around him and was having a good time. You blushed so bad that you almost decided to leave, but you stayed. The Administrator, a man with short brown hair and a serious look your way.

"Freshman," He called out.

You froze suddenly as he walked up to you.

"Are you he to play, or what. I don't have time for bystanders." He asked with a rude tone.

You got your act together quickly and responded, "I'm here to play."

"Sign in and choose what area you would like to be in today."

You signed in, but before you picked what area, you just had to ask, "What is that area over there?"

He sighed and answered, "That's the Duel Monsters Table, now can you just pick an area already."

"Have me down for the Video Game Area for today," You responded.

After he signed you up for it you walked to the opposite side and started playing some of the games they had. And even though you were having a great time playing and making new friends, Yami was still on your mind.

After the club was dismissed, you were picked up by your (Relative) and headed home. The whole way home Yami was on your mind. Your (Relative) knew that look on your face.

"So, who is he," your (Relative) asked.

"Who said it was a guy," You snapped back.

"If it wasn't, you wouldn't be blushing," (He/She) replied.

As you looked at yourself you noticed that your face was bright red. You then quickly sunk into your seat and stayed quiet the rest of the way home.

As you went to your room without a word, you decided that you were going to do research on this game that Yami played. It was a good way to get the ball rolling without him knowing it was in motion. You finished all your work and then looked up all there was to know. The search continued into the night as you looked up some common deck types and even some popular combos that were being used. The more you researched the game the more it actually appealed to you. It was the last thing you were expecting to happen, one card in particular caught your eye, the art was beautiful and it was actually a good card. It wasn't as powerful as some of the other cards, but there was a deck that featured that card as it's ace. It would take some of your savings, but if it worked, it would be worth it.

Two weeks had passed and you almost had the entire deck assembled. It was only missing one card, the ace of the entire deck, and of course a big club tournament was going to be held tomorrow at a convention. Yami, as well as his friends were talking about going and new decks they were planning to try. This whole time you have kept away from the card tables until you had your deck ready and now you had less than a day to get the one card that was missing from it.

After class you headed for the little card shop that you had been going to for the past two weeks and your luck continued as they did not have the card.

"I need that card, how is it out of all the cards not to have it has to be the one I need," You yelled.

"I am sorry young lady, but I don't get my shipment 'til next week,"He explained.

You stormed out of the shop and started to go elsewhere. Shop after shop you raced and no one seemed to have it. Night was fast approaching, if fate was going to smile on you; now would be the time.

One shop remained, the one you had been avoiding this whole time. This shop along with almost every card in print, it was where almost everyone from the club went to. Yet you were hoping that Yami would not be there, you were sure that if he saw you; your plan would burst into flames. As you arrived, you poked your head in to find that no one but the worker was there. You took a sigh of relief and walked in.

"Can I help you," The clerk asked.

"I am looking for a one Duel Monsters card," You responded.

"Sure, we have plenty of cards for sale, which one are you looking for," She asked.

"(Your favorite Yugioh card from the original series)"

Her smile turned into a frown as she replied, " I am really sorry sweety, but we don't have that card anymore."

You could hear your heart break into a million pieces. Somehow, you had managed to get every other card in the entire deck, but the one card that was the glue to making it work. As you picked yourself up off the ground, you thanked her and left.

When you got home, you took out all the things you bought for this entire thing. Your (Fave Color) Deck Box, a really nice mat that had a (Favorite Animal) on it, and the unfinished deck with the sleaves that matched your Mat. Tears filled your eyes and you couldn't help but to cry. It was foolish of you to try to win Yami over this way. You continued to cry as you got ready for bed. It hurt so bad, you were so close. You put your music on and went to bed, you just wanted to be alone.

The next day, you awoke to find that you didn't even put that stuff away. All that stuff you wasted your money was still on your desk.  You decided to just give it to the Club Administrator when you went back. Today was just another day and it was a day that you wanted to go by as fast. Your (Relative) saw you walking around the house half dead and frankly (He/She) was getting tired of it. (He/She) knew of the tournament and was shocked that you didn't wanna go. As you watched the clock, you noticed that it was almost time for the Tournament to start. You heard a knock at the door and it was your (Relative).

"Ready?" (He/She) asked.

"I told you, I am not going," You replied.

"You are going, I am making you," Your (Relative) commanded, " I don't know why you quit so easily, but you won't win his heart by quitting."

Your (Relative) packed your gear and drove you to the tournament and dropped you off.

"Good luck," (He/She) yelled as they drove off.

You took a deep sigh and walked in, you saw everyone from the club and Yami signing up. A thought of just cheering him on came pass you mind and you decided that is what you would do.

As Yami finished signing up he saw you coming his way and he walked up to you. He walked up to you and talked to you as they were deciding who would duel who.

"So, you cam to cheer me on,"  Yami asked.

"Yeah," You answered calmly.

"Thank you," Yami replied.

The list was put up and the tournament began. Yami looked up his named and found his opponent and they shook hands and set up for the first round. You got a front row seat and watched Yami duel up close.

Yami was so good at this game, half of the moves he made; made no sense til later on in the duel. It was like he could see into the very heart of his opponent. You really like some of the cards in his deck too. The Dark Magician Girl by far was you favorite. It was like he had you in his deck, and he was the Dark Magician. Another card that you couldn't help but like was (Another card in his deck) it was so awesome, you even wanted to get one. Yami would sometimes explain something to you if he saw a confused look in your eyes.

Yami eventually won the tournament after beating the local champion. You were so happy for him and he was glad you came to support him. He decided to wait with you for your (Relative) to come pick you up before he headed home. As he held the door open for you, you walked through and tripped. Your bag with your dueling material fell off and Yami saw your cards. As the cards escaped your bag, you could feel your face burn with embarrassment.

"(Name?),"

He saw your face and put the pieces together, and said nothing. He picked up your (Fave Animal) Deck Box and picked up the stray cards. He saw one and knew by that one card what kind of deck you had.

"Have you won with your deck yet?"

The familiar sound of your heart breaking sounded off again as you responded, "I am missing (Card Name)"

Yami, at that moment smiled and reached into his bag and pulled out a single card. As he helped you up, he handed it to you.

Your eyes grew twice their own size, it was the missing card; the one you needed. You looked into his eyes and saw that twinkle in his eyes, the kind you had only read about in Fictions.

"You can have it, I don't need it," Yami commented with a charming smile that you secretly liked.

A single tear left your eye and Yami had quickly caught it as he looked into your (Color) eyes. He smiled and he placed the card in your hand. The moment was ruined by the honking of your (Relatives) car.

"I-I-I have to go, but I will see you at Homeroom; ok?"

Yami smiled and nodded. You got into the car and as your (Relative) drove off Yami walked home.

As Yami was walking home he was greeted by a boy who looked exactly like him except younger. He talked to Yami for a while and then asked,

"Yami, who did you meet at the tournament?"

"Mostly friends from school, why?"

With one of the biggest smiles Yami had seen in sometime the boy responded, "You're blushing"
